METAL SPINNING
Spinning’s & pressings are produced from stainless steels, aluminium, mild steel, inconel, copper and other non-ferrous materials to supply our growing market of domestic heating, ventilation systems pressure vessels and nuclear applications. We can also offer sourcing of specific materials for aircraft, Ministry of Defence contracts and the nuclear industry.
Our 9 PNC spinning machines, 3 semi-automatic spinning machines and a number of hand spinning machines are able to accommodate a material range of up to 6mm Stainless Steel and 911mm on diameter. We also have 3 x 200 Tonne Press and 3 x 100 Tonne presses to accommodate large volume production.
We have developed a process to manipulate ‘Duplex’ stainless steel spinning’s to hold tolerances of + or – 0.6mm on diameter and we specialise in the spinning of all stainless steels.
Spinnings & pressings can be produced from either the customer’s free issue materials or specific purchased materials issued straight to the job. Finished goods can be supplied with certificates of conformity, giving full traceability through our quality control system from approved suppliers to finished products. All our products follow a route sheet procedure, with finished goods either dispatched directly to the customer or their specified sub-contractor
WELDING
We produce a diverse range of metal products for our clients who include stainless steel pressure and Nuclear Waste containment vessels, bespoke catering installations, medical equipment and our growing market of domestic heating and ventilation systems.
The products are manufactured in Duplex, aluminium, mild steel, copper and other non-ferrous materials. We also offer sourcing of specific materials for aircraft, Ministry of Defence contracts and the Nuclear Industry.
We are compliant with welding to British and European standards, which include non destructive testing techniques such as radiographic procedures indorsed by third party insurance company approvals.
FOLDING
DMS are now expanding their folding and bending services to outside contractors, we have the latest equipment and expertise available.
We make precision sheet metal work look easy, our machines are fully CNC controlled for accuracy and we excel in folding intricate thin sections in large batches, and up to 3 meters in length, we are equally at home folding up to 6mm thick sections.

NUCLEAR DIVISION
Product manufacture for the nuclear industry requires expertise in all aspects of engineering & demands extreme levels of none-contamination in the manufacturing process of products, DMS excel in both regimes.
At DMS we have developed a bespoke nuclear engineering division for spinning, welding and fabricating containers for nuclear waste that meet and exceed all the specifications & tolerances’ clients require for use in the nuclear industry.
All our engineers are compliant with all nuclear product production regulations, they are fully trained in all aspects of nuclear manufacture and adhere to stringent production guidelines
If required all products can tested by our qualified inspectors who will work closely with our clients quality control departments.
FABRICATING

LASER CUTTING
Our customers’ requirements are paramount and at DMS we have always aimed to deliver a service second to none. We have listened to our customers’ requirements for accuracy and fast turnaround on products, so we have invested in state of the art laser cutting technology. Our lased cutting division has added a new dimension to our already recognised reliable service.
Our investment in laser technology was in direct response to our customers varied requirements, leading us to invest in fully automated laser cutting service which can handle anything from long continuous product production to simple one-off requirements, changing from one to the other with little or no down-time. Our laser cutter is fully automated allowing our division to run 24 hours a day, producing high-end products accurately and efficiently on a variety of type and thickness of materials.
PIPE WORK
At DMS we realises in today’s industries if you want to expand you have to stay competitive while maintaining high standard of work and supply an unprecedented customer service. Therefore the only logical choice is to expand our fabrication department to accommodate pipework manufacture for pipe spools and flow loops, which can be manufactured in a range of materials from mild steel to Stainless steel and duplex or to customers specific requirements.
Quality control begins in-house by our trained staff performing visual inspections and progresses through supervision, authorized inspector, hydrostatic test and NDT dye penetrant PCN Level 2. Any special testing required (Radiograph etc.) can be obtained through independent third party groups. Separation of common and exotic metals is controlled by isolation and separate bay area techniques. Pacification of stainless welds is available if required.
We have an excellent working relationship with our suppliers and timely delivery has never been a problem. We also welcome customer-supplied pipe and fittings.
QUALITY CONTROL
At DMS we offer a wide variety of Inspection services.
Inspection can be carried out by DMS’s highly qualified inspectors ensuring that relevant procedures and documentation are in place for Fabrication, the welding process itself and the welder who will be carrying out the welding. Also, assessment and measurement of the weld fit up, angle of preparation, and use of correct consumables can be carried out by our qualified inspectors.
At DMS our PCN Level II Engineers are capable of carrying out Dye Penetrant Inspection in all techniques including fluorescent and colour contrast methods, inspection can be carried out either in a workshop, or on in service items at sites around the country.
We can produce bespoke inspection procedures specifically tailored to customer needs when required. Weld Inspection can also be carried out during the welding process itself.
If required we can implement full Documentation and Procedural Control for any project.
By closely monitoring all welding parameters including weld polarity, amps and volts used, interpass temperatures and travel speed, our inspectors can ensure that any welding being carried out has been done so in accordance with any relevant weld procedure specifications.
We also have the capability to do full or random batch ferroxyl testing. This is a highly sensitive test method for a local check of iron residues on stainless steel surfaces outlined in ASTM A 380.
RAIL DIVISION
Maintaining high safety standards is critical within the rail industry, our team of dedicated rail engineers are able to offer our clients, a full comprehensive inspection and maintenance service, from cleaning and shotblasting, to a complete welding service which includes all major repairs to all of the latest standards,
We offer a full range of non-destructive testing services, all the way through to complete bogie overhaul, and component replacement, our facility offers a painting and re-livery service, and this is complemented by our in-house machine shop, where we have capacity from the smallest of machined components to the ability to accommodate full size bogies, our objective is to keep rolling stock rolling, with our rapid 24-hour response team.
